staff
The dictionary[i] provides many definitions for this word. I am using it with the following meanings: “3. a. A group of assistants who aid an executive or other person of authority. c. The group of personnel who carry out a specific enterprise: the nursing staff of a hospital” In our present government, they are the people who keep the government going continuously when we change presidents and political parties. They perform the day-to-day work that must be done.
